For CRT today we did colour blocking. We used poly line tools and layers to do the hills. We also made some trees and learned how to use gradient for the background. We did it on Google draw.

Pollution!

The action that I want to take on is stopping pollution and keeping the city safe because there is so many animals that have been lose due to pollution and i think more people should be helping out so not only animals are being harmed but we have to help out so we are healthy and the same with young children.I worked with my friends Nina and Aylah. I worked with Nina so she can help me out by proofreading and Aylah because she is my friend too and she needs to start going into bigger groups!

What do you think you can do to help the environment?

3,2,1…LIFT OFF!

On Tuesday the 2nd of July we did an science activity called three two one…lift off! I was about  balloon rockets in a group of three and everyone had to have a different type of balloon i had a rocket balloon my friend Nina had a skinny balloon and someone else called Declan had a round balloon.

when air is released from a balloon it rushes around and pushes against the air around the balloon moving the balloon and the opposite direction the force that pushes a rocket through the air is called thrust when we all let go of the balloon they all made a funny noise and they always in different directions my one went straight and then into like a circle Nina’s one it went like in a funky weird sort of path and Declans one went straight up then straight down.

Monday Mashup Crochet

Monday Mashup Crochet

For Monday Mashup we learnt to crochet with Nanna Ngaere.

First, we looked at some different kinds of crochet. Then we learnt how to hold our crochet hook and make chains.

Something I learnt was how to hold the crochet correctly.

A value I had to use was resilience because when I was getting really frustrated and couldn’t hold it properly, I bounced back by thinking about what Nanna Ngaere had taught me.

Nanna Ngaere made some crochet stars for us and we created chains to hang them on.

Inspired by the Matariki star Hiwa-i-te-rangi we wrote down wishes for the year to attach to our creation.

Matariki

Matariki blog

Matariki is a time to acknowledge the dead and to release their spirits to become stars. It was also a time to reflect, to be thankful to the gods for the harvest, to feast and to share the bounty of the harvest with family and friends.

For Art, we have been making a collaborative Matariki Star.

First, we planned out our our Matariki star designs on a diamond shape piece paper my design is was a star with korus in it and a beach, I choose the star with korus in it. Then after that we got our Diamond shaped foam And used a felt pen to draw on a design. Then We poked holes all through our design and even some of us picked out some of the middle parts of the foam.  Finally we printed them with gold paint and now they’re ready to be put up.
